No cap. This is my life! My 11 yo son just asked me for a year advance on his allowance yesterday. I told him I am not a bank and that’s not how allowances work. If he wants more money he will have to find ways to earn it. 😆

Thanks for the kind suggestion, Caroline!

Here is Caroline’s suggestion on Instagram if that’s your cuppa:

(Yes, Meta is awful. For me, TikTok feels worse for my brain than Instagram, so. Such an era of difficult choices!)

My son uses bruh kind of like how one would use
Oh my gosh or like some kind of amazement or like for real?!? He’s not literally calling me bruh. I don’t see the issue. It’s just common phrase of the moment it’s not disrespectful. Like if he sees a super giant cake he’d go bruh! Mom!! Come see this cake. lol he’s not being rude to me.

I’m not sure if this falls under the category of “boundaries”. It’s not inherently disrespectful, it isn’t foul language, it isn’t being used in a derogatory manner. Maybe, in school, it’s a not okay to call your teachers “bruh”. But calling your mother that, jokingly, in your own home, your safe space? Yeah, I’m gonna say that’s probably okay. If saying bro is the beginning of their descent into lawlessness and disrespect, well, I suspect there are other issues going on.
